Piping DesignerOxford Solutions is partnering with a client to hire a Piping Designer to support industrial piping design projects. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity and the team is open to candidates at varying levels of experience, from early-career designers through senior-level contributors who can lead complex design efforts.In this role, you will support the development of 3D piping layouts and detailed drawings for industrial facilities while working closely with engineers and other design professionals.ResponsibilitiesDevelop piping layouts, models, and fabrication drawings using 3D design tools such as SmartPlant, AutoPlant, and CadWorxSupport piping design activities for industrial projects including steel, chemical, petrochemical, power, or similar facilitiesCollaborate with engineers and other designers to develop efficient, constructible piping solutionsReview design requirements, specifications, and project standards to ensure complianceParticipate in design reviews and occasional site visits to verify constructability and resolve field issuesCommunicate design changes and technical information across multidisciplinary teamsFor more experienced designers, may provide technical guidance, review work produced by others, and support overall project executionQualificationsAssociate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent experience consideredHands-on experience in piping design within an industrial environment; open to junior through senior-level backgroundsProficiency with 3D piping design software such as SmartPlant, AutoPlant, and/or CadWorxWorking knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, API, etc.), with depth increasing based on experience levelAbility to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and design documentationStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracyEffective communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teamsWillingness to learn, grow, and be mentored, or for senior candidates, to mentor others and contribute technical leadership
