Mechanical Design EngineerPosition OverviewWe are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop and deliver mechanical system designs for commercial and residential building projects. The ideal candidate will produce detailed HVAC and mechanical system drawings, perform calculations and equipment selection, coordinate with architects and other engineering disciplines, and ensure designs meet code, budget, and schedule requirements. Strong experience with AutoCAD and Revit, practical HVAC knowledge, and a solutions-oriented approach are highly desirable.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed mechanical and HVAC system designs, layouts, and schematics for new construction and renovation projectsCreate and revise construction drawings and documentation using AutoCAD and RevitPerform heating, cooling, ventilation, ductwork and piping calculations and select appropriate equipment and componentsPrepare specifications, material takeoffs, and cost estimates to support project budgetingCoordinate with architects, structural and electrical engineers, contractors, and owners to integrate mechanical systems with overall project requirementsEnsure designs comply with applicable building codes, standards (e.g., ASHRAE), and local regulationsParticipate in site visits and inspections to verify installation and resolve field issuesSupport project delivery by producing construction bid packages, responding to RFIs, and issuing design revisions as neededDrive continuous improvement by incorporating feedback, lessons learned, and best practices into future designsQualificationsBachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field3+ years of experience in mechanical/HVAC design, preferably in building services or consulting engineeringProficiency with AutoCAD for 2D drafting and Revit (BIM) for 3D modeling and coordinationStrong understanding of HVAC principles, equipment selection, duct and piping design, and system balancingFamiliarity with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, local building codes) and experience producing compliant designsDemonstrated ability to perform load calculations and prepare equipment schedules and specificationsExcellent communication and teamwork skills, with experience coordinating multidisciplinary projectsHighly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlinesProfessional Engineer (PE) license or pursuit of licensure is a plusBenefitsHealth/Vision/Dental InsuranceShort-term and Long-term Disability401(k) with Profit-SharingPTO/Sick LeaveHolidays OffStudent Loan Rebate OpportunitiesContinued Education Provided
