Summary The Graphic Design Intern will support the marketing team in creating promotional assets for The Englert Theatre. This internship will involve working closely with the Marketing Director to learn industry practices and a deep-dive into nonprofit branding and design. Anticipated Work Schedule The Graphic Design Intern will work as a part-time employee. Working 10 hours per week during regular business hours Tuesday – Friday. This internship has a projected start date of Tuesday, September 1 and will run until Friday, December 18. Core Job Responsibilities Englert Promotion (3 hrs/wk) Design branded admats and promotional materials for print, email, and social media Design Monthly calendars, street team materials, and advertising creative Update or create materials for Track Zero, Community Engagement, and Songwriter Series events Year-End Appeal Branding (3 hrs/wk) Assist Marketing Director in creating advertisements, infographics, branded reports, print materials, and appeal letters Collaborate with Development and Marketing team on campaign strategy Iowa City Songwriter Festival Design (2 hrs/wk) Create advertisements, social media assets, and print materials Meeting Hours (2+hrs/wk) Weekly marketing meeting (1 hr/wk) Weekly check-in with Marketing Director (1 hr/wk) Monthly exploration meeting with leadership team (1.5 hr/mo) Desired Qualifications: Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud; Including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign Experience with Adobe Premiere and/or Adobe After Effects Experience with Google workspace and project management tools An organized individual with time management skills Willing to work under tight deadlines and in a fast paced environment Experience collaborating on teams, eager to learn and receive feedback Approaches work with a professional and positive attitude An interest in arts administration and live events SUPERVISION RECEIVED Direct supervision is received from the Marketing Director HOURS AND WAGES This is a part-time position at $12.50/hr About The Englert The Englert Theatre is a performing arts organization based in Iowa City, Iowa.
